Piya Uttamapunyo


We aim to take a different approach in reaching out and helping people along the journey.

Lead men in a wider &
growing relationship with
Buddha.

In 2000, shortly after completing the highest grade of Pali studies, he received his higher ordination under the royal patronage, being given the monastic name “Uttamapunyo” and was thus referred to as “Phra Maha Piya Uttamapunyo.”
After his graduation he became a Dhamma & Pali teacher at various schools and temples in Thailand.

In 2002, he went to India to continue his M.A and Ph.D. study, after graduation he helped serving the work of Oversea Buddhist Missionary Monk in India. After that he returned to Thailand and trained under the Oversea Buddhist Missionary Monk Project. In 2007, he came to USA to serve as a Dhamma & Meditation teacher at the Buddhist Meditation Center, Virginia.

Currently, he is a head monk and secretary of BMCP(the Buddhist Meditation Center of Pittsburgh) for sharing the meditation and the Buddha teaching in Pittsburgh area including the prisons.
